Admission is done under two modes:

  • UTME and
  • Direct Entry.
  • UTME

Candidates who have satisfied the general Universithy requirements for admission and who have passed any five teaching subjects at credit level in at least two sittings in Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE), or West African School Certificate Examination (WASCE) or General Certificate in Education (GCE) or National Examination Council (NECO) or their equivalence are qualified to be admitted into a four year degree programme.

  • Direct Entry (DE)

Candidates with at least a minimum of merit grade at the Nigerian Certificate of Education (NCE), Diploma Certificate in Education, Music, Religion, Adult Education, Health Education, Social Science Education or Science Education are qualified t be admitted into a three year degree programme.

Job Opportunities

Products of the programme are qualified to be school guidance counselors at both secondary and higher education levels. They can be employed in the Ministry of Education as supervisors and in hospitals as counselors. The graduates of the programmes can be employed in Social Welfare establishments as counselors and in any other related areas. They can teach in institutions of higher learning when they obtain a higher degree in the area.
